What is Lepas?
LEPAS is a new design-led, electrified car brand from Chery International, the global export division of Chery Automobile, one of China’s largest independent vehicle manufacturers. Founded in 2025 and making its UK debut in 2026, LEPAS is the fourth brand in the Chery Group’s UK portfolio, joining OMODA, JAECOO and Chery UK.
Every LEPAS model, whether hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric, is built around Leopard Aesthetics: a design philosophy that translates the speed, power and fluid grace of the leopard into vehicle design. Its first UK model, the LEPAS L8, is a large five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV that arrives in 2026.
LEPAS is led in the UK by Gary Lan (CEO) and Ray Wang (Managing Director), who bring experience from across the automotive industry to build the brand’s market presence from the ground up.
Leopard Aesthetic
Inspired by the leopard, symbolising the perfect fusion of speed, power and elegance, echoing the brand's aesthetic philosophy of "Leopard Aesthetics", which originates from nature and the power of life, as well as its globally self-developed platform technical strength.
Leopard Aesthetics is not simply a visual reference. It is a set of principles that governs proportion, surface treatment, detailing and the relationship between inside and outside the vehicle. On the L8, it is visible in the Signature Leopard-Eye LED headlights, the sculpted flanks, the porcelain-inspired exterior forms, and the considered use of light and shadow throughout the design.
